Note: Filenames for stamps consist of the country of issue followed by the date of issue (yyyy-mm-dd).

Note: Since the breakup of the USSR there has been considerable confusion regarding the status of stamps purporting to have been issued by the various former members of the former USSR. Such stamps include legitimate stamps available for postage in the particular country, officially issued stamps not available in the particular country, locals or regionals and completely bogus issues. Therefore, while excluding stamps that it knows are bogus issues, the Space Unit does not and can not guarantee that stamps appearing on its site are legitimate issues. Stamps of approximately 60 Republics/territories have been issued. These are unofficial local issues and will not be listed. Only 6 local issues are considered official: Abkhazia, Chechnya, Nakhichevan, South Ossetia, Transnistria and Tuva. In addition Belarus, Russia and the Ukraine have issued official local stamps.
